Small-scale farmers in Tarime District are facing hardest by the effects of continues of climate change.
By adopting environmental conservation initiative programs in their land, the farmers can continue to develop their farming activities, despite of droughts and rainfall season fluctuation, and these methods will ensure the farmer access to food for family’s conception and for Selling in order to get income.
Tree plating and conservation of natural bushes show a positive impact on the soil fertility and conserving moisture into the soil. It is also bind the soil so that the rain doesn’t wash away crops and nutrient rich soil, Apart from that preserving the natural forests and climate change by binding and storing carbon dioxide in the trees and soil.
John Mniko Makorere farm is located on the slops of Nyamwaga mountain in Tarime District observing the benefits of plating and keeping bushes around his plot and leading to availability of spring water sourse in his farms through out the year and that is why John get food for his family despite of drought which affects others farmers crop and cause hunger among their families.
